Obituary of Earlene Brown Boyd Harper
Funeral services for Earlene Brown Boyd Harper, age 90, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 1:00 PM CDT at Quattlebaum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Ferrell and Bro. Kevin Anglin officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Mrs. Harper passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at Lafayette Nursing Home in Lafayette, Alabama.
Survivors include: children, Billy Fred Boyd (Tina) of Lake Martin, AL, Gary Boyd (Sundra) of Roanoke, AL, Nancy Abney (Leroy) of Valley, AL, Kay Dye (Jeff) of Jackson Gap, AL, William Boyd (Diane) of Roanoke, AL; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; and sisters, Virginia Holloway of Roanoke, AL, Darthy Lewis of Roanoke, AL, Lillian Taylor of Woodland, AL, and Glenda Dean of Roanoke, AL.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Boyd, Eric Short, Bryan Halbrook, Brad Halbrook, Timothy Boyd, Ricky Anglin, Jr., Terry Duffey and Christopher Ferrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Ferrell and Connor Boyd.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Harper was born on October 3, 1931, the daughter of William Orville and Cora Smith Brown. She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for Flat Rock Manufacturing in Franklin, GA. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Harper; brothers, Gary Brown and Alford Brown; and sisters, Shirley Brown, Lorene Knott and Alice Waldrop.
