Robert Eugene Chappell, age 64, of Hickory Flats, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at his residence.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Quattlebaum Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held later.

Survivors include: his mother, Sybil Hall Chappell of Hickory Flats; a son, Dennis Chappell of Atlanta; three sisters, Vicki Garrett (Talmadge) of Alexander City, Michelle Darabaris (Len) of Lake View, and Crystal Chappell of Hickory Flats; one brother, Mike Chappell (Chris) of Georgiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chappell was born in Abbeville, Alabama on March 4, 1958, the son of Lee and Sybil Hall Chappell. He was Christian by faith and was a member of Roanoke First Baptist Church. Mr. Chappell had been employed by Guy Thompson and Pee-Wee Pike in the construction industry before going to work for Iberia Marine Services servicing oil rigs. Mr. Chappell was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Chappell and his grandparents, Robert Lee & Daisy Chappell and Tom & Elsie Hall.
