Jimmy Lynn Watson, age 50, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at his residence.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Clark Watson; two sons, Logan Watson (Ali) of Anniston and Johnwayne Watson (Brianna) of Roanoke; his mother, Patricia Ann Golbert Watson Duke, of Sevierville, TN; brother, Delbert Watson, of Sevierville, TN; and four grandchildren, Wyatt Watson, Reece Watson, BryLeigh Denham and Brayson Denham.

Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Watson, Johnwayne Watson, Pebo Hand, Chad Bennett, Michael Denham, Josh Denham, Glenn Newman, Joseph Gibbs, Terry Bennett, Benji McFarland, Jerod Watson, and Johnathan Watson.

A lifelong Randolph County resident, Jimmy Lynn was born on July 28, 1971 the son of John Wayne Watson and Patricia Ann Golbert Watson Duke. Jimmy was Christian by faith and had attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He worked as a welder at SteelFab for most of his career. Jimmy married the love of his life, Sandra Clark Watson on September 21, 1990 and together they had two boys. He was very involved in his boy’s lives, whether it was coaching them in ball as they grew up or teaching them what he knew to make them the men they are today. He believed in tough love raising his boys, but that all came to an end when his grandbabies came along; they were his world. Jimmy Lynn loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing, being on the river, or working with his tractor. Jimmy had a lot of people who considered him a friend and one of his favorite hobbies was taking their money at a poker table. Everyone who knew and loved him knew he could be stubborn and cantankerous, but also that he would give you the shirt off of his back, a place to sleep, or a hot meal with no questions asked. Jimmy Lynn played a big part in making many young men who they are today. Jimmy was a good man, he was one of a kind, deeply loved, and will be sorely missed.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Billy Wayne Watson.
