Obituary of Jerome Bowen
Funeral services for Jerome “Boss” Bowen, age 85, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon on Sunday.
Mr. Bowen passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Tanner Medical Center - East Alabama.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margie Herren Bowen of Roanoke; one daughter, Ann Bowen Morgan (Johnny) of Roanoke; one son, David J. Bowen (Rhonda) of Wetumpka; four grandchildren, Amanda Falon Morgan, Jonathan Kyle Morgan, Matthew Bowen and Kristy Bowen; one step-grandchild, Saylein Morrison; ten great-grandchildren, Kylon Herren, Benjamin Bowen, Bradley Bowen, Jackson Bowen, Ashlan Gosdin, Pacee Morgan, Kade Morgan, Raelan Morgan, Kayleigh Morgan, and Saylein Morrison; one sister, Betty Bowen Adams of Glen, GA; one brother, Gregory (Peck) Bowen of LaGrange, GA.
Pallbearers will be Jack Smith, Jr., Kyle Morgan, Scott Thrower, Josh Smith, A. J. Trask and Allen Trask.
A long-time Roanoke resident, Mr. Bowen was born on February 19, 1937, in the Napoleon community, the son of Reese C. and Margaret Dale Bowen. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and retired with 22 years of service. He had retired from real estate construction and was Church of God by faith. Mr. Bowen was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Bill Bowen, Babe Bowen, Raymond Bowen, Eugene Bowen, Dewey (Butch) Bowen and Reese C. Bowen, Jr.
