My papa was my favorite man to sit on the couch with and hold hands with. From the sweet trickster when I was a child, to the noble man who supported and loved his family with everything he had. A man of wisdom, fun stories and a seat next to him on the porch swing to share a cup of coffee with. My papa was a strong and beautiful soul, with working hands to show for it. He built everything from small wooden Easter bunnies in the spring, to beautiful homes that cherished so many memories I hold dear to my heart. I will always remember the beautiful times I shared with my papa and nanny. I know they are my angles, and always will be. Until we meet again nanny and papa, your Sugar, Courtney

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
