Obituary of Sarah Catherine "Cathy" McKinney
Funeral services for Cathy McKinney, age 80, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Scott Hannah and Bro. Chuck Marcum officiating. A private interment will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022.
Mrs. McKinney passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.
Survivors include her husband, Jim McKinney; daughters, Donna Craft of Grantville, GA, and Tammy Satterwhite of Panama City, FL; son, Brandon McKinney (Shelby) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Anna Tow (Trevor), Mitchell Porter, Nikki Sankey (Jon), B.J. Satterwhite, Megan Satterwhite, and Hudson McKinney; and great-grandchild, Millie Sankey.
Pallbearers will be Sam Shelnutt, Greg Foster, Todd Cole, Rod Hineman, and Harold Cotter.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. McKinney was born on October 20, 1941, the daughter of William Earnest and Ora Thelma Young Lee. She was a member of Roanoke First Baptist Church. She served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Roanoke City School System for 52 years. She loved the school system and Handley Athletics. Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her parents.
