Obituary of Sue Freeman Whaley

Funeral services for Sue Freeman Whaley, age 87, of Woodland will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Scott Whaley officiating.  Burial will follow at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM on Thursday before services begin.

Mrs. Whaley passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia.

Survivors include: two daughters, Debbie McCarley of Roanoke and Heather Whaley of Woodland; two sons, Timmie L. Whaley (Holley) of Birmingham and Ronnie D. Whaley (Julie) of Princeton, TX; daughter-in-law, Dottie Whaley of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Jimmie W. Whaley, III, Rusty Conrad, Dara Shoults, Delana Bolt, Brittany McCarley, Jason A. Whaley, Rebekah Whaley Brown, and Alyssa Whaley, and one brother, Charlie Freeman of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Stevie Bolt, Clayton Holloway, Jimmie Whaley III, Timmie L. Whaley, Kam Holloway, and Kirstan Lorrow.  Daniel Holloway will serve as honorary pallbearer.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Whaley was born on July 7, 1934, the daughter of Leroy and Willie Shaw Freeman.  She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Whaley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. W. Whaley; a son, Jimmie Whaley, Jr.; one grandson, Larry Conrad; and two brothers, Billy Freeman and Tom Freeman.
