Obituary of Anna Claire Brookshire
Anna Claire Brookshire, 67, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on October 19, 2021, in hospice care following more than two weeks’ hospitalization with COVID.
Ms. Brookshire was born April 14, 1954. She was reared in Roanoke, Alabama, from the age of six when her family relocated from Roanoke Rapids, NC. Her father is remembered as the Roanoke Scout Master and her mother worked for many years at The City Pharmacy.
Ms. Brookshire graduated in 1972 from Handley High School where she was a member of the Handley High School Band. She was accomplished as a musician and as a teenager served her church, the Roanoke Christian Church on West Point Street, as the pianist for Sunday Services.
Ms. Brookshire attended Auburn University as a music major and worked at the front desk in a local motel to have an income to pay for her college expenses. She was a very competent employee and the company offered her attractive employment in the hotel industry in Florida. During her career, she was employed in progressively higher positions of supervision and management in the hospitality industry on Long Boat Key, Florida.
Ms. Brookshire has no direct survivors. She is predeceased by father, Jones Branson Brookshire, and mother, Clarice Wright Brookshire. Both older brothers, US Army Captain Retired, John Richard Brookshire and Roger Loring Brookshire preceded her in death. She is survived by multiple cousins in Georgia and Alabama and friends.
Ms. Anna Claire Brookshire is buried in the Randolph Memory Gardens where her parents and Captain Brookshire are at rest.
