Obituary of William "Billy" Tarver
Funeral services for William “Billy” Tarver, age 64, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jamie Taylor and Bro. Billy Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, November 22, 2021.
Mr. Tarver passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021, in Five Points, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Diann Tarver of Roanoke; six children, Brandon Stewart of Woodland, Amanda Stewart Davis (Butch) of Roanoke, Deanna Hall of Auburn, Misty Harrelson (Mike) of Valley, Kyle Mitchell and Josh Mitchell, both of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, London, Solivan, Danielle Mitchell, Ian Hall, Caleb Mitchell, Anna Grace Mitchell, Cole Davis, and Cole Hall; and one brother, David Tarver of Waverly, AL.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Phillips, Randy Pool, Ian Hall, Caleb Mitchell, Cole Davis, and Cole Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Landreth, James Davis, and Bobby Perry.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Tarver was born on May 29, 1957, the son of Fred and Minnie Benefield Tarver. He attended Welcome Home Baptist Church and worked in construction for Zachary Industrical, Piedmont Mechanical, and AMEC and Flour-Daniels. Not only was he an avid millwright, mechanic, fabricator and carpenter, he was a friend to anyone he met. Mr. Tarver had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and loved to laugh and had a passion for making knives and collecting anything and everything. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Elijah Mitchell and Lucas Solivan.
