Obituary of Rhonda Baldwin

Funeral services for Rhonda Baldwin, age 61, of Wadley will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tyler Worthey and Bro. Frank Sledge officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The visitation at the funeral home will be from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 27, 2021.  ***Please note that due to concerns about the recent surge of Covid related illnesses, the family requests wearing masks and social distancing. Visitation will be on Friday for those who wish to come pay their respects and sign the register book, but the family may not be present.  Thank you for your understanding.***

Mrs. Baldwin passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at her residence following a lengthy illness. 

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Baldwin of Wadley; mother, Dorothy Herren of Roanoke; sister, Angela Hayes (Tristram) of Bethlehem, GA; three nieces and five nephews. 

Pallbearers will be members from the youth group of Trinity Baptist Church. 

A life-long resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Baldwin was born on July 21, 1960, in Lafayette, Alabama, the daughter of G. C. Bailey and Dorothy Strickland Bailey Herren. Mrs. Baldwin graduated from Handley High School in 1979 and attended Southern Union State Community College and Jacksonville State University.  She worked for South Trust Bank and was the youth director at Trinity Baptist Church for 19 years.  Mrs. Baldwin received her master’s degree from Jacksonville State University and taught history four years at Handley High School until 2015.

Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Wyatt Herren.
