Funeral services for Brenda Joyce Sims, age 59 of Roanoke, will be held Thursday January 5, 2012, at 1:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4th .
Mrs. Sims died Saturday, December 31, 2011.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Sims of Roanoke, two sons, Jamie(Liz) Whitten of Prattville, Jason (Riese) Whitten of Newnan, GA ; two half sisters, Jeanette Haygens of Andalusia, and Debbie Haygens of Dothan; two half brothers, Robert Haygens and Eddie Haygens both of Opp; and four grandchildren, Jonathan Whitten, Lukas Whitten, Trinity Whitten, and Emelyn Whitten.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Sims was born September 12, 1952, the daughter of Edgar and Thelma Osborne Haygens. She was a member of Paran Baptist Church and a Randolph County Sheriff's Auxiliary. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ronnie Haygens and one half brother Michael Haygens.
