I am saddened to just hear of Mr. Evans passing. I don't think I've ever met a more humble, caring, compassionate and Christian man. There was time when he helped me when my refrigerator broke down and I needed help getting one from a friends to my home. He picked it up loaded it on his truck refusing any help and delivered it my home and up a flight of stairs alone. At the time I didn't know his age, but in reading this obituary he was well over 70. Hard to believe he managed that feat alone, but he did! Also he looked at my car that needed a repair and fixed it. He would not take payment for either of these kind acts, not a penny. I will always remember his kindness as well as his dedication and love for working in his church. My condolences and prayers to his family. I took time to share these details because sometimes its only after a person has passed that we truly realize or even question just how much they impacted the world. Jessie Evans was truly in my opinion a man who loved serving God and making those like me, who he came in contact with understand just how essential it is to see evidence of a converted life. "Let the redeemed of the Lord, say so." I thank God for the life and kindness of Mr. Evans. Rest in power. - From A Thankful Heart
