Obituary of Jane Brown
Private family and invitation only funeral services for Jane Brown, 82, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at 3:00 PM at the Roanoke Church of Christ with Bro. Gerald Romine officiating. Open to the public, graveside services will follow at 4:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, December 27. The church will be closed at 2:00 to prepare for the private services.
Mrs. Brown passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospital in LaGrange, Georgia.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Brown of Roanoke; one daughter, Patricia Truitt of Roanoke; two sons, Keith Brown of Pittsboro, NC, and Mark Brown (Benita) of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Brandon Truitt, and Emily Jackson; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Stapp of Marysville, TN, and Judy Campbell of Woodland; and one brother, Roger Edmondson of Decatur, GA.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Brown, Brandon Truitt, Chuck Marcum, Paul Romine, Chris May, and S. A. Kidd.
A Woodland native, Mrs. Brown was born on October 14, 1938, the daughter of Perry and Mary Will Crenshaw Edmondson. She was a member of Roanoke Church of Christ, worked as a seamstress for Playtex, Russell, and Palm Beach, and served on the Cheaha Headstart Board and the Roanoke Superintendent’s Advisory Committee. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wendell Edmondson.
