OBITUARY
Funeral service for Durward Manley Allen, age 82, of Woodland will be held Monday, December 7th at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Whaley and Rev. Billy Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday.
Mr. Allen died Friday, December 4, 2009, at East Alabama Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Clara "Dot" Allen of Woodland; a son, Terry Allen of Woodland; a grandson, Tucker Allen of Woodland; and a sister, Willie Belle Whiteside of Rome, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Wortham, Mike Dudley, Phillip Wortham, Steve Nobley, Mike Nobley and R. L. Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Tucker Allen and Junior Nobley.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Allen was born May 11, 1927, son of Arther and Nancy Burke Allen. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Lowell United Methodist Church and had retired from Handley Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray Allen.
