Obituary of Helen Pate Grant

OBITUARY Funeral services for, Mrs. Helen Pate Grant, age 64, of Roanoke, will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, November 11, 2011, from the Midway United Methodist Church with Rev. Jamie Taylor, Rev. Ed Grooms and Rev. Jimmy Yates officiating. She will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to following in the adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 10, 2011. Mrs. Grant died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Grant is survived by her husband, Donnie Grant, Sr. of Roanoke; three daughters, Donna (husband Phillip) Brown of Roanoke, Michelle (husband Don) McManus of Roanoke, Lynn (husband Pat) Gooden of Roanoke; one son, Donnie (wife Deana) Grant, Jr. of Roanoke; three sisters, Ann Higgins of Roanoke, Jeanette Huddleston of Woodland, Omie Fisher of Woodland; one brother, W. C. Pate of Wedowee; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Sheppard, Cody Grant, Jason Dutton, Gary Cooper, Billy Lane, Donnie Knight, Robert Sims, Delmer Green, David Cofield and Rayford Edmondson. Mrs. Grant was born, January 20, 1947, the daughter of Curtis and Maudie Mitchell Pate. She was a member of the Midway United Methodist Church, and had been a housewife.
