Obituary of Classie "Toad" Baldwin
Funeral Services for Classie Alma Ray “Toad” Baldwin, age 98, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with her grandsons, Rev. Mark Moore, Bro. Greg Baldwin, and Bro. Michael Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Potash Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Monday before services begin.
Mrs. Baldwin passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020.
Survivors include: one daughter, Pauline Moore of Roanoke; one son, Jack Baldwin (Martha) of Whitesburg, GA; daughter-in-law, Margaret Baldwin of Conyers, GA; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Dorothy Robinson of Roanoke; and special caregiver, Marie McDaniel.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Moore, Thomas Baldwin, Alex Baldwin, Ronald Striblin, Tyler Parmer, and Damon Earl. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Clay County Hospice.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. Baldwin was born on November 15, 1921, the daughter of Joe and Etta McDaniel Striblin. She was Church of God by faith and worked as a seamstress at Playtex. Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jewell Baldwin; son, Frank Baldwin; son-in-law, Eugene Moore; sister, Bernice Mulkey; and brother, Bill Striblin.
