Obituary of Evelyn Luvinue S. Marable
Graveside services for Evelyn Luvinue S. Marable, age 87, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Janice Clark, Pastor Anthony Sims, and Pastor Linda Dixon officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2020.
Mrs. Marable passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.
Survivors include her one daughter, Rhonda Marable McVey (William) of Roanoke; two sons, Keith Marable (Theresa) of Wadley and Chris Marable (Carol) of Roanoke; two step-daughters, Rose Johnson (Melvin) of Atlanta, GA, and Penelope Beasley of Jonesboro, GA; one foster daughter, Kisha Jones of Orangeburg, SC; one step-son, Barrington Marable of Roanoke; and three foster sons, Antoine Lewis and O’Neal Lewis both of Montgomery and Jimmy Foster of Roanoke; 28 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren; one brother, Lorenza D. Sullivan (Amanda) of Gurley, AL; and one sister-in-law, Bobbie Sanders of Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Emmanuel Hill, Gabriel Marable, Adrian Marable, Jacob Marable, Justin Lockhart, and B. J. Marable.
A Madison County native, Mrs. Marable was born on April 29, 1933, the daughter of Elmer and Maggie Leola Brazelton Sullivan. She was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a 1957 graduate of Alabama A&M University and was a Home Demonstration Agent before teaching at Randolph County High School, Folsom School and Heard County (Georgia) High School. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Marable was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph P. Marable; foster son, Kenneth Jones; and two brothers, Ruby Joe Sullivan and Radie Sullivan.
