Funeral services for Mevline C. Adamson, age 93, of Rock Mills, Alabama, will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lime Congregational Christian Church. Pastor Stanley Yarbrough will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethany Lime Cemetery. Mrs. Adamson will lie in state at Bethany Church for one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at Quatttlebaum Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Mrs. Adamson went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, while at the LaFayette Nursing Home. She is survived by one son, James (Chuck) Thompson (Gayle); two grandsons, Scott (Stephanie) Thompson and Jeff (Christina) Thompson, all of Rock Mills, AL; five great grandchildren, Dylan (Katelyn) Thompson, Tayla Thompson, Maison (Aliyah) Thompson, Kasidy Rose Thompson and Britten Thompson. Pallbearers will be Dylan Thompson, Britten Thompson, Randal Harlin, John Lewis, Ben Arrington, and Tim Arrington. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Adamson was born on December 29, 1926, the daughter of Hosea and Ruby Ramsey Calhoun. She was the oldest living member of Bethany Lime Church where she served her church and her Lord. She was a seamstress at Palm Beach sewing factory and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Adamson, two sisters, Margaret Harlin and Avis Taylor; and one brother, Tony Calhoun. The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to Bethany Lime Church.
