Obituary of Annette Bailey Shirey

Funeral services for Annette Bailey Shirey, age 85, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 -1:30 PM on Wednesday before services begin. Mrs. Shirey passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Traylor’s Nursing Center in Roanoke. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Paul Shirey of Roanoke along with nieces, nephew and cousins. Pallbearers will be Harold Hall, Robby Ussery, Charles Fincher, Gene Olgivie, Jacky Potts, and Mike Potts. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Shirey was born on March 23, 1934, the daughter of Jim Bailey and Dovie Bailey Owens. She was a member of Bethany Lime Christian Church and worked as a winder at Wedhakee Yarn Mills. Mrs. Shirey was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Awbrey Bailey; and sisters, Mary Fay Prather and Willie Pearl Bonner.
