OBITUARY
Funeral services for, Willie Mae Blount Garrett, age 87, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 17, 2011, from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Dean officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home on Sunday, July 17th.
Mrs. Garrett died July 17, 2011 at Traylor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Garrett is survived by one daughter, Linda (husband Pat) Awbrey of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Patrick Awbrey of Fairfax, VA, Patrice Awbrey of Roanoke; one niece, Betty Ann Watts of Tabor City, NC; one brother, Jerry (wife Miona) Blount of Britton Neck, SC.
Pallbearers will be
Mrs. Garrett was born, March 15, 1924, the daughter of Willie and Polly Anna Barnes Blount. She was of the Methodist faith and had work at Candlewick Yarns. Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Awbrey Garrett; two sisters. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
