Obituary of Annie Laurie Wallace

Funeral services for Annie Laurie Wallace, age 93, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gerald Romine officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday.

Mrs. Wallace passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Tanner Medical Center/East Alabama in Wedowee, AL.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Hilton Wallace of Roanoke; two daughters, Barbara Burroughs of Roanoke and Terry Lynn Hooper (husband, Walter) of Spring City, TN; and three grandchildren, Auburn Brasher (husband, Jeffery) of Rome, GA, Walter Hooper IV (wife, Linda) of Chattanooga, TN, and Will Hooper (Fiancé, Katie) of Atlanta, GA.

Pallbearers will be Walter Hooper, Will Hooper, Jeffery Brasher, Gary Holloway, Phil Waldrop, and Scott Whaley.

A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Wallace was born on May 13, 1926, the daughter of Grover Augustus and Annie Laurie Hill Williams. She was a member of Roanoke Church of Christ and had worked as a seamstress for Roanoke Fashions. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Bobby Burroughs; seven brothers; and one sister.
