Obituary of James Thomas Burke

OBITUARY Funeral services for, Mr. James Thomas "Buddy" Burke, age 69, of Lanett, will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 25, 2011, from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Brewer, Rev. Sam Wood and Rev. Mark Dickinson officiating. Burial to follow in Rock Mills Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Friday, June 24th. Mr. Burke died, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his home. Mr. Burke is survived by special companion, Sue May; two daughters, Teresa Bradley of Roanoke, Amanda D. Burke of Roanoke; two step-daughters, Shelia Burks, Denise Hill; one son, William James "Pee Wee" Burke of Lanett; four brothers, Eddie Burke, Lamar, Terry, and Richard Hand all of Roanoke; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ray Perkins, Billy Wayne Perkins, Randall Hand, Terry Gray, David McCall, Dale Hand and James McCain. Mr. Burke was born, December 8, 1941, the son of Willie Dee and Ruby Nell Burke. He was of the Baptist faith and had worked for Piedmont Mechanical. Mr. Burke was preceded in death by his parents.
