OBITUARY
Mr. Joe Frank Edwards, age 78, of Roanoke, died at his home on Friday, November 27, 2009. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Jane McMurray Edwards of Roanoke; three sons, Joe Frank Edwards, Jr. of Virginia, Samuel Oliver Edwards of Roanoke, Lee McMurray Edwards of Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Janet Leigh Edwards and grandchild, Ally Jane Edwards.
Mr. Edwards was born April 1, 1931, the son of Frank Edwards and Isabell Sharman Edwards Bailey, Step-father George Bailey. He was of the Methodist faith, served in the United States Navy and United State Air Force, a veteran of the Korean, Vietnam and Cold War. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1972. Mr. Edwards was Vice President of Citibank/Lineville and an agent for Reliance Reality of Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Clay County Hospice or the First Methodist Church of Roanoke.
