Obituary of Nancy Jean Hunt
Funeral services for Nancy Hunt, age 87, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Corinth Christian Church with Rev. Ricky Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2019. Mrs. Hunt will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday.
Mrs. Hunt passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Roanoke Rehab and Healthcare Center.
Survivors include: four daughters, Beth Noles (Malcom Bassett), Darthy Hurd, Julia Allen (Wayne), and Tammie Hunt Carden; 14 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Blanche Brown of Roanoke; and one brother, Willie Bob McDaniel of Ashburn, GA.
Pallbearers will be Edward Gabriel, Mark Noles, Craig Davidson, Keith Gilliland, Thomas “Petey” Benefield, and Robert Dobson.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Hunt was born on September 24, 1931, the daughter of William Shellie and Laura Eugene Mulkey McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R. B. Hunt; one great-grandson, Logan Bassett; two brothers, Bud McDaniel and Horace McDaniel; and one sister, Peggy Faye McDaniel.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Children’s Hospital of Birmingham or Compassus Hospice.
