Obituary of Janice D Hodges
Funeral services for Janice D. Hodges, age 67, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2:30 PM from Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Whaley and Bro. S.T. Janney officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, October 1, 2018. Mrs. Hodges will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday.
Mrs. Hodges passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Hodges of Roanoke; one daughter, Kristal Cottle (Cody) of Roanoke; one son, James Hodges of Roanoke; two sisters, Ellen Ferrell of Roanoke and Elsie Martin (Eddie) of Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Ray Staples, Dwain Holt, Walter Daughtrey, Chester Daughtrey Jr, Mike Cofield Jr, and Richie Harrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Ferrell, Cody Daughtrey, Chance Cofield, Dusty Staples, James Daughtrey, and Chris Dunlap.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Hodges was born on September 10, 1951, the daughter of Allen M. Daughtrey and Eula Mae Martin Daughtrey. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and worked at Traylor’s Nursing Home in Housekeeping. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Joyce Staples; one brother, Chester Howell Daughtrey; sister-in-law, Shirley Daughtrey; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Staples and Olin Ferrell.
