Memorial services for Richard Clinton Brooks, Jr., age 63, of Hickory Flat will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Standing Rock United Methodist Church.

Mr. Brooks passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Holli Edmondson (Wayne) of Roanoke; one son, Michael Brooks of Phenix City; 4 grandchildren; one sister, Debra Caldwell (Jesse) of Roanoke and one brother, Steve Brooks of Roanoke.

A Chambers County native, Mr. Brooks was born on November 17, 1954 the son of Richard and Francis Brooks.  He worked as an operator for several local textile plants. He was also a saw filer at Sim’s Lumber Company for many years.  Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandy Brooks; and one sister, Karen Daniel.
