Obituary of Urban Edward Dendinger Jr.
Funeral services for Urban Edward Dendinger, Jr., age 89, of Wadley, formerly of New Orleans, LA, will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 4:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Tim Callaway and Bro. Chris Agee officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 27 before services begin.
Mr. Dendinger passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Tarver Dendinger of Wadley; one daughter, Nanette Palmer of Brandon, MS; three sons, John Dendinger of New Orleans, LA, Greg Dendinger (Jennifer) of Wedowee, and Mark Dendinger of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Elizabeth Tucker of Harvey, LA, Cedie Fiorella and Claudia Kurtz, both of New Orleans, LA.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Dendinger, II, Jarrad Palmer, Will Dendinger, Ryan Dendinger, Mark Dendinger, and Nathanial Morrow.
A New Orleans native, Mr. Dendinger was born on June 11, 1929, the son of Urban Edward Dendinger, Sr., and Anna Marie Di’Corti Dendinger. He was Catholic by faith, a United States Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a retired plant supervisor for Pepsi Cola. After retirement, he contracted with Pollard Security for Amoco Fabrics and Fibers. Mr. Dendinger was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Jeansonne.
The family will meet after the service on Wednesday at The Main Event at 596 1st Ave SE, Wedowee, AL 36278.
