Obituary of Mary Nell Wright Stone

Funeral services for Mary Nell Wright Stone, age 75, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Dan Hopkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery – Bacon Level.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Mrs. Stone passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia.

Survivors include: one daughter, Eunita Ann Hodges of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Kellie Ann Schubert-Hill (Emmanuel) of Roanoke and Brandy Nicole Brightpath Hodges (Christopher Brown) of Heflin; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Alice Hoke of Ohatchee, Loretta “Candy” Ogletree of LaGrange, Ruth Shuniak of Ohatchee, and Helen Grace Jones of Roanoke; and a special niece and nephew, Audrey James and Jim Wright.

Pallbearers will be Sam Locke, Joe Trammell, Kody Mitchell, Tyler Moore, Neal Henry, Shawn Woodrum, and Logan Munkus.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Stone was born on December 30, 1942, the daughter of Robert Lee and Audrey Mae Ussery Wright.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a machine operator for Plantation Patterns.  Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Wright Stone; a daughter, Patricia Wright; four brothers, Assy Lewis Wright, Robert Lee Wright, Jr., Elbert Wright, and Rufus Bobby Wright; and four sisters, Florene Wright, Dorene Wright, Thelma Hodges, and Judy Wright.
