Obituary of Ruby Grace Pike Arrington

OBITUARY Funeral services for Ruby Grace Pike Arrington, age 82, of Roanoke will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 2:00 pm from Forest Home Congregational Christian Church with Revs. Wayne Cowhick and Stoney Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at Pike Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 11th. Mrs. Arrington died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Roanoke Healthcare. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Ann Weathers (Mike) of Roanoke, Gail McGill (Larry) of Wadley, Susan Marie Cowhick (Wayne) of Alex City; one son, Harvey Darden Arrington, Jr. of Roanoke; three sisters, Faris Arrington, Dorothy Pate and Clemen Knight, all of Roanoke; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Shane Weathers, David McGill, Tim Arrington, Ben Arrington, Hal Arrington, Vayden Pate, Randy Knight and Steve Pike. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Yarbrough, Rodney Taylor, Larry Pike and Tommy Pike. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Arrington was born March 14, 1928, daughter of Elbert D. and Irene C. Folsom Pike. She was a member of Forest Home Congregational Christian Church and had previously been employed with Handley Mills, Palm Beach Company and Amoco. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey D. Weathers, Sr.; three brothers, Herbert, Recel and David Pike; two great-grandchildren, Gabriela Grace Taylor and Joshua Aaron Taylor.
