Obituary of Sara J. Smith

Funeral services for Sara J. “Patsy” Smith, age 66, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 3:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Brewer officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Mrs. Smith passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017, at her home.

Survivors include: one son, Joey Hand of Roanoke and four grandchildren.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Smith was born on November 10, 1951, the daughter of Ernest and Etter Craft Smith.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a twister operator at Candlewick Yarns.  Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ranney Smith; one sister, Nellie Jean “Monk” Smith; and one brother, Eddie Joe “Shorty” Smith.
