Obituary of Lula Maureen Griffin Peek

OBITUARY Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Maureen Griffin Peek, of Roanoke, age 94, will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 2:00 pm from the First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Cobble officiating. Mrs. Peek will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial to follow in the Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 9, 2009. Mrs. Peek died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Randolph Medical Center. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy (wife Linda) Peek of Roanoke, Dan Peek of Huntsville; three sisters, Irma Stanford of Lineville, Alice Thorpe of Weaver, Gladys Janoski of Bridgeton, MO; two grandsons, Will Peek of Chelsea, Phillip Peek of Huntsville; two granddaughters, Beth (husband Kevin) Corbette of Opelika, Amy (husband Jeff) Binkley of Madison. Pallbearers will be Mark Bowen, Mike Griffin, Rex Griffin, Terry Griffin, Ken Janoski, and George Thorpe. Mrs. Peek was born July 2, 1915, the daughter of G. L. and Lula Lee Griffin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church - Roanoke and had been a homemaker Mrs. Peek was preceded in death by her husband, James Peek; three brothers, Ocola, Burford and Vance Griffin.
