James was a blessing to me as a patient of mine. I always enjoyed our silly talks. He was my "papa" his face always lit up when I came to see him. I will surely miss him.

He will be missed by many. I loved to hear him play. He was there for me when mama passed away. He always made room for out of town family for reunions. So sorry for your loss.

James was a true friend. So proud I have an autographed James Watson banjo on display in my office. James endured a mighty struggle in the end and now he has received his reward in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. So sorry to miss the funeral but I am out of state.

Our Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Watson Family during this loss in their family.
I really enjoyed picking with James and the Golden River Grass during their jam sessions over
the years and their was no greater old time banjo player than James. He is a great loss to the
Bluegrass Community. RIP..Brother James.

James was an inspiration to me when I first started playing Bluegrass and a wonderful friend. James band" The Golden River Grass" and my group "Georgia Grass" played many of the same bluegrass festivals so we would see each other often. I always had a special love for James and enjoyed many Jam sessions with him over the years. He was a very kind soul and I am grateful for the gift of knowing him and will miss him very much, as so many others will also.
REST IN PEACE OLD FRIEND

All of us in the traditional bluegrass community will miss James Watson. He was a delight to jam with and he possessed a warm and humble soul. I first met him way back at the old Marietta Fairgrounds festivals when he was playing with Doodle and the Golden River Grass Band. As I remember, they always had a huge crowd around their "parking-lot" pickin. James added real "drive" to any session he played with.
Rest in peace friend.
