Obituary of James Walton "Jimmy" Lashley

Funeral services for James Walton “Jimmy” Lashley, age 70, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Willis Moten officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, May 22, 2017.

Mr. Lashley passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at his home.

Survivors include his companion, Marge Cottone of Wadley; one sister, Brenda Rice of Wadley; one brother, Robert Lashley (wife, Deborah) of Hampton, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gary Rice, Dale Rice, Russell Cottone, Greg Lashley, Scott Rice, and Eddie Chastine.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Lashley was born on February 19, 1947, the son of Hulon and Bessie Williamson Lashley. He was a member of Moore’s Temple Baptist Church and had worked for Jones Transportation as a truck driver.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Wilmer, Lamar, and Doy Lashley; and one brother-in-law, Gary Rice.
