Private family memorial services for Willis E. Cook, age 71, of Roanoke, will be held on a later date.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
Mr. Cook passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his residence.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Simpson Cook; daughter, Lisa Cook of Roanoke; son, Barry Cook (wife, Debra) of Roanoke; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Cook was born on July 29, 1945, the son of Delmas Cook and Miriam Smith Cook George. He worked as a sheet metal machinist at West Point Pepperrell Mill. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his step-father, Lewis George.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
