Obituary of Mildred Cottle Waller

Funeral services for Mildred Cottle Waller, age 95, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, February 6, 2017, at 12 noon from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Tom Waldrep officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 5th. Mrs. Waller will lie in state at the church for one hour beginning at 11:00 am on Monday.
Mrs. Waller died Saturday, February 4, 2017, at her home.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherre Sorrell (husband, Mike) of Wedowee; one son, Cottle Waller of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Vanessa Burnside; and one great-granddaughter, Millie Burnside.
A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mrs. Waller was born August 20, 1921, the daughter of James Christopher and Annie Vasta Brown Cottle. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Waller worked with Palm Beach Company for 30 years, then owned and operated Waller’s Glass and Frame Shop along with her husband for 27 years.
Mrs. Waller was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband of 69 years, Waymon Waller; one sister, Annie Lou Calhoun; one brother Bruce Cottle.
