Funeral services for Vire W. Kinsey, age 89, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Woodard and Rev. Wes Kinsey officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Friday, December 23 before services begin.
Mrs. Kinsey passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.
Survivors include: two daughters, Judy Timmerman (husband, Robert M.) of Midland City, AL, and Sherie Pinkard (husband, Hoyt) of Roanoke; two sons, Wes Kinsey (wife, Donna) of Woodland and Mike White of Phenix City; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Mary Ann Ward of Phenix City, Myrtlene Luker of Delta, and Ruth Traylor of Bowdon, GA.
Pallbearers will be Blake Anderson, T.J. Mayfield, A.J. Pinkard, Johnny Mangram, Jim Jackson, and Buddy Holloway.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Kinsey was born on March 14, 1927, the daughter of Elton “Stork” and Mae Holloway White. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and worked as a spinner at Candlewick Yarns. Mrs. Kinsey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Kinsey; four sisters, Maurine Nelson, Jane Whaley, Faye Long, and Artis Daniel; and two brothers, Powell White and Jimmy Lee White.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Springfield Baptist Church or the Randolph County Human Society.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
