Funeral services for Dora Mae Elswick, age 81, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 3:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Preacher Len Martin and Preacher Dale Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
Mrs. Elswick passed away on December 19, 2016 at East Alabama Medical Center.
Survivors include: one sister, Dean Martin (husband, Len) of Roanoke; four nephews and two nieces.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Elswick was born on April 14, 1935, the daughter of Jesse Carl Kirby and Gladis Mae Spears Kirby. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and worked as a waitress. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dewey Kirby; and one sister, Othell Kirby Knight.
