Phillip Gene Cox, age 81, of Roanoke passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016, in Wedowee.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn L. Cox of Alabaster; two daughters, Becky Wallace of Birmingham and Stacie Noss of Alabaster; two sons, Chris Cox of Roanoke and Steve Cox of Calera; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Angie Curran and Nancy Means, both of West Virginia; and two brothers, Ray Cox and Terry Cox, both of West Virginia.
A West Virginia native, Mr. Cox was born on April 24, 1935, the son of Carl and Irene Hart Cox. He was a United States Army Veteran of both the Vietnam and Korean conflicts. He retired as a CWII with 25 years of service. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
