Obituary of Diana Beverly Dilworth Jones

Funeral services for Diana Beverly Dilworth Jones, age 76, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at 11:00 AM from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Barrow and Rev. Chris Martin officiating. Burial will be at Alabama Heritage Cemetery in Montgomery, AL with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday. Mrs. Jones passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at her home. Survivors include her husband, Ralph Jones of Roanoke; one daughter, Beverly Jones Frazier of Auburn; one son, Michael Dilworth Jones of Lynn Haven, FL; and four grandchildren, Will Frazier of Oregon, Kathryn Frazier of Juneau, AK, Ellis Frazier of Hawaii, and Conner Jones of Lynn Haven, FL. An Auburn, AL native, Mrs. Jones was born on May 29, 1940, the daughter of Benjamin Parchman Dilworth and Margaret Purcell Mullins Dilworth. She was a member of the Roanoke First United Methodist Church, President of the Master Gardener Program, and a member of the Women’s Service League. Mrs. Jones had been employed by Handley High School and Woodland High School as a chemistry and physics teacher and served on the Roanoke City Schools Board. She was preceded in death by her parents.
