Obituary of Mabelene Henderson Young

Mabelene H. Young, 85, a native of Roanoke, AL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 11, 2016 at 1:19 pm in Dallas, TX.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mabelene worked most her career at Palm Beach Company and Harco Drugs & Carport.
She was born on March 9, 1931, the daughter of Benjamin C and Lucy H. Spears. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie “Clarence” Young; two sisters, Gladys and Allie Kirby; two brothers, Leon and Grady Spears; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Norred, all of Randolph County.
Survivors include her son, Michael Henderson and son-in-law, Kevin Moshinski, of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Patricia Burke (husband, Tommy) and Lura Norred of Roanoke; one brother, Jewell Spears (wife, Ruth) of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tommy S. Burke, Chuckie Norred, Andrew Norred, Jamie Norred, Derick Norred, and Keith Adamson.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
