Funeral services for Mozelle Waldrep Wier, age 89, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 12:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Johnson and Minister Denise McGill officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Christian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Monday, August 8, 2016.
Mrs. Wier passed away Friday, August 05, 2016, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.
Survivors include: three sisters, Willene Kelly and Angela Mintz, both of Lakeland, FL, and Florence Henderson of Roanoke; one brother, Randy Langley of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Barry Waldrep, John Gwin, Terry McGill, Preston McGill, William Mintz, and Kyle White.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Wier was born on June 22, 1927, the daughter of Alonza Lawrence and Mary Lucille Owens Waldrep. She was a member of Rock Stand Christian Church and worked as a bookkeeper for Lowe Motor Company. Mrs. Wier was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Shaffer Wier; three sisters, Mildred Dupuis, Wilma McGill and Louise Galberaith; and one brother, James Waldrep.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
