Obituary of David B. Kerlin, Sr.

Funeral services for David B. Kerlin, Sr., age 64, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, formerly of Woodland, will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at 1:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Lankford officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM on Sunday, August 7 before services.
Mr. Kerlin passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Hospice of Golden Isles in Brunswick, Georgia.
Survivors include: one daughter, Tiffany Lankford (husband, Tony) of St. Simons Island, GA; one step-daughter, Jennifer Blackstone of Roanoke; one son, David Kerlin (wife, Michele) of Griffin, GA; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; his mother, Doris Roberts Kerlin of Fayetteville, GA; five sisters, Marie Latham of Florida, Cheryl Crowe of Winder, GA, Judy Long of Fayetteville, GA, Cathy McCue of Fayetteville, GA, and Gloria Johnson of Jonesboro, GA; and two brothers, John Kerlin of Palmetto, GA, and Ronnie Kerlin of Fayetteville, GA.
Pallbearers will be the College Park Fire Department Colorguard.
An Atlanta, Georgia native, Mr. Kerlin was born on October 12, 1951, the son of Billy Kerlin, Sr., and Doris Roberts Kerlin. He was a member of St. Simons Island First Baptist Church, was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War, and was a retired Sergeant from the College Park Fire Department. Mr. Kerlin was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Mary Elizabeth Kerlin; one sister, Cynthia Kerlin; and one brother, Billy A. Kerlin, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Golden Isles in Brunswick, Georgia.

About Us
Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
