Obituary of James Dunn

Funeral services for James Dunn, age 87, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ken Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at High Pine Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Mr. Dunn passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, at his residence. Survivors include: one stepdaughter, Lana G. Pierce of Ozark, AL; two sons, James Winford Dunn of Roanoke and David Gunn of Wadley; and a half sister, Ruby Jean Hodnett of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Jack Wood, David Hodnett, Glenn Hodnett, Hunter Fulghum, Kyle Fulghum, David Harmon, and Daryl Harmon. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Dunn was born in Troup County, Georgia on December 29, 1928, the son of John Will and Mary Eulala Pope Dunn. He was a member of High Pine Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Ann Dunn; two daughters, Jean Smith and Wanda Gail Wilson; two grandsons, James Herbert Dunn and Randal Kassie Lewis; and one sister, Ruth Graves.
