Obituary of Paulette Jackson Banks

Funeral services for Paulette Jackson Banks, age 68, of Roanoke, will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016, at 2:00 PM from First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Baccus and Rev. Chris Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. Mrs. Banks will lie in state one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Mrs. Banks passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. Survivors include her husband, Bryon Banks of Roanoke; one daughter, Paula Banks Camren (husband, Rick) of Roanoke; one son, Jim Banks (wife, Shannon) of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Ashley Banks, Tori Banks, Sara Grace Banks, and Hannah Camren; and one sister, Judy Banks of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Ryan Kelly, Danny Noles, Lew Neighbors, Terry Royster, Bill Wilkinson, Trae Wilkinson, Tommy Burke, and Hank Hurley. A DeKalb County native, Mrs. Banks was born on January 29, 1948, the daughter of James Floyd Jackson and Ann Jackson Rushton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and worked as the library aide for Handley Middle School and as preschool and youth director for the First United Methodist Church in Roanoke in addition to serving as a caregiver at Williamsburg Manor. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lisa Banks; and her sister, Annette Mitchell.
