Obituary of Cecil Douglas "Doug" Brown

Funeral services for Cecil Douglas “Doug” Brown, age 71, of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 2:30 PM CST from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Steffey and Rev. Tim Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:30 PM CST on Sunday. Mr. Brown passed away on July 22, 2016 at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn, AL. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Brown; one daughter, Rebecca Brown Johns (husband, Jason) of Roanoke; and two sons, Timothy Douglas Brown of Valley and Warren Lucas Brown of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Jason Johns, Chris Taylor, Ken Bowen, Keith Nelson, Jr., Steve Rowland, and Tim May. A Chambers County resident for most of his life, Mr. Brown was born on June 7, 1945, the son of Luke Cecil and Mildred Daniel Brown. He was a member of First Church of God and retired from West Point Foundry and Machine. He was preceded in death by his parents.
