Obituary of Robbie Robertson

Funeral services for Hansard Gay “Robbie” Robertson, Jr., age 60, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at 3:00 PM from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Baccus officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Mr. Robertson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Wednesday. Mr. Robertson passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Survivors include: one daughter, Margaret Calhoun (husband, Philip) of Roanoke; two sons, Bobby Robertson (wife, Amy) of Auburn and Steven Dale Robertson (wife, Lorrie) of Woodland; the children’s mother, Lynn Robertson; ten grandchildren, Harli Hodges, Becca Robertson, Dale Robertson, Samuel Robertson, Jack Robertson, Lillian Robertson, Addie Robertson, Logan Calhoun, Bryant Calhoun, and Ivy Calhoun; one sister, Debbie McMurray (husband, Paul) of Roanoke; and one brother, Rick Robertson of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Freddy Brown, Jackie Potts, David Cummings, Harold Heard, Ted Henry, and Lavoy Caldwell. A long-time Roanoke resident, Mr. Robertson was born in Atlanta on September 8, 1955, the son of Hansard Gay Robertson and Joyce Helen French Moring. He was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and worked in auto sales at Mike Patton Ford. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sandra Elizabeth Hodges; and his stepfather, Doug Moring. Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Roanoke First United Methodist Church.
