Obituary of Claude W. Jones, Jr.

Graveside services for Claude W. Jones, Jr., age 83, of Clarkesville, GA, will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 11:00 AM from Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Jones passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Jones of Clarkesville, GA; three daughters, Nancy McWaters of Jackson, MS, Susan Corley of Montgomery, AL, and Elizabeth Ducker of Esley, SC; two sons, Robert Jones of Enterprise, AL, and David Jones of Prattville, AL; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Elsie Moore of Blythewood, SC; and one brother, Robert N. Jones. Pallbearers will be Dale Corley, Justin Jones, John Moore, Allan Ducker, Ed Dugas, and Josh Edmonds. A Montgomery native, Mr. Jones was born on July 12, 1932, the son of Claude Willoughby Jones, Sr., and Margueritte Tucker Jones. He was retired from the United States Navy where he served 26 years and during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents.
