Memorial services for Jimmy Mitchell, age 66, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11:00 AM from Woodland Church of God with Sister Carolyn Hanner officiating.
Mr. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, April 06, 2016, at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include: six daughters, Tracey Spidle of Athens, GA, Debra Chapman of Roanoke, Tonya Boyd of Birmingham, Cristy Traylor of Roanoke, Shannon Watkins of Roanoke, and Ashley Herren of Roanoke; two stepsons, David Gunn of Wadley and Chris Gunn of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Thurman Mitchell of Atlanta, and Roger Mitchell of Phenix City.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Mitchell was born on December 15, 1949, the son of Arthur Byron and Inez Smith Mitchell. He was a member of Woodland Church of God and worked for Kelley Trucking. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon Mitchell; one grandson, Harley Boyd; and one sister, Novice Treadwell.
