Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Bonner May, age 67, of Roanoke, will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Bethany Lime Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
Mrs. May passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Mike May of Roanoke; two daughters, Michelle McDaniel of Anniston and Sheri May Brown of Wedowee; five grandchildren, Alexander J. Brown of Hartselle, AL, Jacob Yarbrough of Birmingham, AL, Noel Lillian Brown of Huntsville, AL, Miranda Paige Yarbrough of Jacksonville, AL, and Mallory Nicole Yarbrough of Jacksonville, AL; one brother, Lamar Bonner (wife, Cindy) of Roanoke; two nieces, Brooke Cohran and Blair Bonner; and one great-nephew, Gabriel Cohran.
Pallbearers will be Sheri Brown, Whit Bonner, Tim Ussery, Jacob Yarbrough, Alex Brown, and Chuck Thompson.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. May was born on March 19, 1948, the daughter of Wallace Awbrey and Mary Viney Johnson Bonner. She was a member of Bethany Lime Congregational Christian Church and had been employed by Palm Beach as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
