Obituary of Robert Floyd Manley

Funeral services for Robert Floyd Manley, age 87, of Kingsland, GA, formerly of Randolph County, will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 3:00 PM from Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-3:00 PM on Sunday. Mr. Manley passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Georgia. Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Achilles (husband, Thomas) of Cumming, GA; four sons, Gary Manley (wife, Jill) of Kingsland, GA, Alan Manley of North Augusta, South Carolina, Mark Manley (wife, Dina) of Kingsland, GA, and Keith Manley of St. Marys, GA; five grandchildren; and one brother, Howard Manley of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Chris Weathers, Scott Manley, Brian Manley, Thomas Achilles, Shane Weathers, and Wade Weathers. A Randolph County native, Mr. Manley was born on March 19, 1928, the son of Marvin and Eris Sudduth Manley. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Construction and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Manley was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church and had been employed as a maintenance engineer by Gilman Paper Company in St. Marys, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Weathers Manley; one sister, Frances Calloway; and two brothers, R.M. and Donald Manley.
